With our "Bydro-Gen"-System, we produce climate-neutral and therefor sustainable hydrogen through thermochemical gasification of biological residues at industrial scale.​
Hydrogen is the most common chemical element in the universe. It is clean and safe, making it one of the most important energy sources of the future.​
The "Bydro-Gen"-System
Of all the gasification processes, “two-bed fluidized bed gasification” - or DFB technology for short - is recognized globally as the most sophisticated process. This DFB process was developed by the Vienna University of Technology and was first implemented on an industrial scale by the project partner CeFET in 2000 in the city of Güssing in the form of a pilot, demonstration and research facility.
The technology was operated, tested and demonstrated by CeFET in several systems for over 200,000 operating hours over 20 years. Since then, the technology has been continually developed and is now used in various systems around the world.
Thus far, synthesis gas has been used in the past to produce green electricity with a gas engine. Due to the lack of green electricity subsidies, both in Austria and worldwide, a different strategy is now being pushed:
Separate the hydrogen from the synthesis gas from gasification and make it industrially available. This system would is combination of several standard components, but unique in its combination to produce sustainable and climate-neutral energy.

Hydrogen​
Hydrogen can be converted into all forms of energy that we need in everyday life - electricity, heat, cooling, fuel. Unlike other energy sources, using hydrogen only produces water as a waste product. Hydrogen is clean, can be stored and transported comparatively easily and is therefore one of the most important energy sources of the future.
Politicians around the world have also recognized the potential that hydrogen offers for the energy transition and climate protection and are taking various measures to achieve this. The European Union wants to be climate neutral by 2050 at the latest. The hydrogen age has now been initiated. The EU Commission has presented two strategies for “integration of the energy system” and “clean hydrogen” as part of the “Green Deal”.
Germany wants to be there from the start and secure a pioneering position in international competition and use hydrogen itself to achieve our climate goals. The federal government has laid the foundations for this with the „National Hydrogen Strategy 2020“.
The update of the hydrogen strategy from July 2023 further increases the level of ambition when entering the hydrogen economy and specifies its implementation.
